Creative Challenges

This project came with a few unique challenges. I was the artist in charge of creating the player controlled character, which required me to learn for the first time skeletal character animation and rigging. It was crucial that the player was able to control and pose the character’s limbs and hands, and these needed to look good at any angle. The character also needed to have a universal appeal while remaining distinct.

The team also decided that it wouldn’t be Puri-Kura without wearable hats and glasses, so I had to factor in the different poses and positions when considering the design of these items.

Once the character and their dress up items were out of the way, I contributed some iconographic and typographic stickers for players to decorate their print outs with.

In the final stages of the game jam, I also prepared the logo for the game and also populated the itch.io page.
